These areas include the sand dunes in Roz-Ven in Saint-Coulomb, La Chambre au Loup Valley in Iffendic, La Forge lake in Martigné-Ferchaud, the Landemarais peat bogs in Parigné, gravel pits, rocky headlands, moors etc. In fact, from year to year Ille-et-Vilaine Conseil général is improving public access to these 50 areas of outstanding natural beauty.

At the Cojoux Moors in Saint-Just, the Jaunouse wetlands in Billé, the arboretum in the Tour Du Guesclin park in Le Grand-Fougeray, the Landemarais peat bog in Parigné and the wooded Corbinières Valley, there are five interpretative trails providing information about the natural environments.
Reconciling the management of ?natural areas? with social insertion
As part of the management of these ?natural areas?, a system has been set up to recruit people on an assisted-contract basis. In fact, since 1999, the approach has resulted in a steady job for workers over the age of 50 whose work has been satisfactory.
The system, which combines the management of ?natural areas? with a return to work for people in difficulty, is specific to Ille-et-Vilaine.
