Interpretive paths have been laid out in several different ?natural areas? such as the wooded Corbinières Valley in Messac, the Jaunouse Moors in Billé, the Landemarais peat bog in Parigné, the Gannedel Marshes and the Stone Age site in Saint-Just near Redon.
 
Observatories have been built on certain sites, in particular the lake in Marcillé-Robert, the peat bog in Parigné and the Careil Estate in Iffendic.
During the migratory period, in winter, the lakes and ponds are home to numerous species of bird. In fact, some of them remain throughout the winter, enjoying the tranquil surroundings and abundance of food.

A number of associations have joined forces with the Conseil général to teach people more about the environment and the ecology: La ligue de protection des oiseaux, the Centre d'information sur l'énergie et l'environnement (Ciele), Bretagne vivante (Sepnb) and Eau et rivières de Bretagne.
